Overview

In this role you work from our office in Enschede (also working from home and from time to time in our Amsterdam office). You work closely with your colleagues from the Sales and Supply Chain team. You report to the Supply Chain Manager EU.

As Sr. Demand Planner you will provide scenarios and guidance to the demand and supply balancing on the BYND EU level, based on your detailed analysis and business knowledge, in such a way that European availability of our products is optimized to deliver against customer requirement and to realize our business objectives in terms of revenue, costs and integral inventory levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a constant relationship with the sales, innovation, finance and your supply team, to understand the demand forecasting drivers.
• Challenge the forecasts from the sales teams and the usual runs (historical data, seasonality, market trends, special offers, budgets…) with relevant data analysis.
• Improve the forecasts accuracy (statistical models, software…) with transversal coordination actions and updates of the Supply Chain Planning tool.
• Coordinate the customer projects with Supply Planning.
• Communicate the product inventory strategies (high runners, new products, substitutions, end life…) to the Supply Planning team.
• Tune the forecasts and inventory rules according to the demand and market trends.
• Analyze quantity and financial forecasts.
• Report of forecasts (accuracy) and inventory KPIs.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

• Leading Demand meetings with Sales and Marketing and serve as the primary planning contact for Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Finance business partners in the EU.
• Proactive assembly and analysis of all data (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions) and application of forecasting techniques to create the sales forecast.
• Leading meetings at regional level and leverage best available cross-functional inputs and apply judgment based on knowledge of the business and robust cross-functional discussions.
• Using Demand Planning tools and technologies and suggest improvements to improve the current demand planning process.
• Measuring, managing and improving forecast accuracy for his/her division by effectively analyzing sources of forecast error and recommending appropriate action plans.
• Working closely with the Supply Planners to ensure accurate and on time replenishment of stock and optimal Customer Service levels
• Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
• Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
• Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
• Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
• Software knowledge: ERP system(s) and strong proficiency on Excel; Netsuite experience is an advantage
• Strong analytical and communications skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Language communication efficiency in Dutch (native) and English (business fluent)
• Resilient individual that is willing to challenge the status quo and drive improvement
• Proven ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to drive results through a global matrix structure is required
