About The Role
The Central Ops team, in collaboration with the Regional teams, leads our vision, strategy, execution and tactics for our Operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Operations is all about running our business on the ground and helping our drivers and driver partners get the most out of Ubers platform.
In the Marketplace team, you will be responsible for driving the growth of the business by delivering a superior marketplace experience for our riders and drivers. This role will involve strong cross-functional collaboration across operations, product, cities, finance, marketing, tax, legal and customer support. By implementing various relevant projects, you will help bring Ubers operations in EMEA to the next level.
We are looking for an exceptional project manager with a solid understanding of the ridesharing business. The ideal candidate has a good track record of leading complex cross-functional projects and managing relevant partners. The candidate is expected to be a good communicator, and be able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills.
Examples of areas you might be working on include developing new pricing and investment strategies, managing various investment campaigns (strategy, execution, performance management), researching various marketplace problems.
What Youll Do

• Lead cross-functional projects, collaborating closely with other functions within Central Ops and Uber, including Marketing, CRM, Community Operations, Product, Tax, Legal and Regional teams
• Formulate, manage, implement and monitor the rollout of our operational strategy, frameworks, tactics and processes
• Build and run operational processes
• Help problem-solve complex business problems
• Act as a thought partner for regional teams across EMEA
• Engage with HQ product teams to represent our markets and design new products
• Experiment with local markets to innovate on our operations

What Youll Need

• Minimum of 4 years of work experience in operations, product, marketing (analytical), strategy or project management
• Strong undergraduate degree, preferably in Engineering / Mathematics / Computer Science / Economics / Business. MBA a plus
• Stellar project management skills. You have demonstrated impressive ability to lead initiatives at your organization
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
• Data-driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking and experimentation
• Strategic & operational problem solving and creativity – you will design solutions that scale to multiple markets
• Solid communication and partner engagement skills – you are able to rally people behind a common goal and easily generate consensus if youre facing push back
• You are comfortable dealing with uncertainty in a constantly-changing work environment
• A willingness to travel across EMEA when required
• SQL, Python, R or other marketing/CRM related analytics skills is a plus
• Ability to operate in complex mature organizations and influence decisions by getting alignment
• Strong collaborative mentality: we can be way more impactful if we work together
